FAQ: Features and integrations

Can a customer book multiple services in one reservation?

Not yet on the standard booking site; each service must currently be booked as a separate reservation. We are working on an order function that will make it possible to book multiple services, add-ons and products in one go. In the meantime, two workarounds: create a combined service (for example "Cut + colour") with the total duration, or let the customer book twice, since after the first booking they are already verified and the second booking is quick. If a customer just needs more time, you can also allow a booking to span multiple consecutive time slots (a setting on the service).

Do you support gift cards or punch cards and session packages?

Gift cards launched in early 2026: customers can buy a gift card that can be used to pay for bookings. Punch cards and session packages are not available yet, but memberships with punch cards and monthly passes are on our roadmap. As a workaround you can create discount codes, including single-use codes and 100% discounts, and hand them out as prepaid sessions.

Do you support Vipps, and is the 2% fee on top of Stripe's fee?

Yes, MakePlans supports Vipps: you need your own Vipps agreement for accepting payments online, which you then connect to MakePlans under Setup > Integrations. And yes, the 2% MakePlans platform fee for card payments is in addition to Stripe's own transaction fees; both are deducted from the payment before Stripe pays out to your bank account. There is no extra MakePlans fee for Vipps payments; only Vipps' own pricing applies.

Does MakePlans sync two-way with Google Calendar or Outlook?

No. MakePlans offers a one-way, read-only iCalendar feed (enabled per resource) that lets you see your MakePlans bookings in Google Calendar, Outlook and other calendar apps, but all changes and availability must be managed in MakePlans, and external calendar events do not block availability in MakePlans. Note the feed's limitations: it only includes upcoming bookings (up to 200), and how often it refreshes is controlled by Google or Outlook, which can be slow. See Show bookings from MakePlans in other calendars: https://help.makeplans.com/article/54-show-bookings-from-makeplans-in-other-calendars . Two-way calendar sync is on our todo-list but is not available yet.

Is there a mobile app?

No, and you don't need one. MakePlans is a responsive web app, so both the booking site and the admin system work fully on mobile: just log in as usual in your phone's browser. You can also add MakePlans to your home screen from the browser menu, which gives you an icon and full-screen mode just like a native app.

Which languages can the booking site display?

The booking site supports Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (international, British and American), French, Hebrew, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Slovenian, Spanish and Swedish. You can set one language for the booking site (independently of your admin language), or contact us to enable a language menu so customers pick their own. See the article Languages on the booking site for details.

Where do I find my API key, and how do I give a developer access?

Each MakePlans account has its own unique API endpoint and API key. Go to Setup > Developer > API to enable the API and see your API key. Your developer can also be added as a user on the account, and if they use our JavaScript API in the browser your domain must be whitelisted under Setup > Developer > Embed. Documentation is at https://developer.makeplans.com

How do I track bookings in Google Ads or Google Tag Manager?

Enter your Google Tag Manager container ID (or Google Analytics ID) under Setup > Booking site; MakePlans then loads the script on all booking site pages automatically. We send a booking_completed event to GTM when a booking is confirmed (sent only once), which you can use as a conversion trigger for Google Ads, Facebook Pixel or other tags in your container. Rely on this event rather than URL matching. Note: numbers will often be lower than actual bookings because Safari and other browsers block trackers, and if the booking site is embedded in an iframe, tracking is even less reliable, so we recommend a direct link to the booking site.

Do you sign a data processing agreement (DPA), and where is data stored?

Yes: our data processing agreement is included in our terms of service, which you accept when registering. See https://makeplans.com/en/tos/ . As a Norwegian company we comply with GDPR; all data is encrypted at rest and in transit, and our infrastructure is hosted on JCloud in Norway (ISO 27001-certified data center). For enterprise customers we also offer a custom DPA and SLA. MakePlans also includes a function for automatically deleting personal data after a period you choose, plus full data export.
